How to Strengthen Your Skills with the ACFT Calculator
Problem-solving within the context of an Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) and how to score it may feel challenging. However, with the calculator, it is virtually straightforward. Consider this a personal fitness dashboard that enables real-time feedback regarding the user’s performance. Below is a simplified instruction to help them maximize the efficacy of the CODA Calculator.
Step 1: Personal Info
Prior to engaging with the core section of the calculator, which focuses on the score, it first needs to verify the following two basic attributes for customized results:
Gender: Choose from the dropdown menu the option that is most appropriate: Male or Female.
Age: How old are you as of today?
Such information is relevant inasmuch as the Army’s performance assessment grading methodology entails baseline and criterion-referenced evaluations scoring standards to accommodate and achieve equity among assessments.
Step 2: Type in Your Scores Relating to Different Events
Let’s get to your most priceless lesson. Complete every one of the six ACFT exercises and enter the results that you managed to achieve within. If you are in case you are unable to complete all of them, focus on the ones that you are familiar with and complete those. Since you asked, how much weight did you lift in the max deadlift MDL? Answer this with how much you lifted in pounds (lbs).
You can fill in ‘the distance in meters’ for how far the ten-pound ball was thrown. For example, if the ball was thrown a distance of five thousand meters, you can fill in that the distance in meters is five thousand meters. Similarly, if the ball was thrown a distance of eight point five meters, you can fill in eight point five in the distance in meters section.
The next section of the sheet is the correction of the hand-release push-ups. Here, you need to put in the total number of correct hand-release push-ups completed in the duration of two minutes.
Again, you have the other three events, which are Sprint, Drag Carry, Plank, and others with the same timing. The Sprint Drag Carry is a timed event, and you have to enter the time in seconds. For example, if the time is two minutes and fifteen seconds, you put two in the Min box and fifteen in the Sec box.
2MR is the last section of the sheet, which refers to the two-mile run. In this event, you have to enter the time for the run in the minutes and seconds box.
Once you enter all the info, you click the last box, which is the “Calculate My Score” button. You should see a detailed reply to your performance and the points you have achieved for each event.
The points for each event are color-coded, with 0-100 points for each event. Also, if you scored below the minimum, the box would be color-coded red.
Your Total Score: This will be the first scoring on the screen, out of a possible 600.
Overall Pass/Fail: The calculator will indicate the outcome “PASS” or “FAIL” and will determine whether the candidate has completed all stages of the ACFT. A candidate must score a minimum of 60 points in all events and obtain a total of 360 points in order to pass.
That is the end of the process! This is a tool that permits you to monitor the progress of your fitness regimen, so you can determine improvements that can be made in order to achieve your fitness goals.
